End of an Era/Justice Served

Thunderheart , a fictitious but oftly close to home film, was about the
perceptions, clash and ensuing battles of two cultures, the grave injustices
endured by one at the hand of the other, and a statement of apparently
serendipitous change with an slightly ominous ending. The main character was
Ray Leevoy, an up and coming FBI agent who goes through a spiritual
transformation. The FBI had a mini Indian civil war going on in the Badlands of
South Dakota between an aboriginal rights movement(ARM) and pro-
government Indians, which ARM felt were encroaching upon their traditional
ways. The FBI Director saw this mission as a way of helping people caught in
the illusions of the past coming to terms with the reality of the present. Ray was
picked by the Director for a three day mop up job. He was chosen to help
assist with Indian relations because of his 1/4 Sioux bloodline, which in the FBI's
eyes made him Indian enough. A bloodline and past which Ray had tried hard to
bury and put behind him, but in the end he acknowledged and accepted as the
true part of his being.
The expert FBI agent whose jurisdiction oversaw that territory was Frank
Kutell, one who Ray had admired and wished to emulate. Frank Kutell made it
clear numerous times to Ray that it was his case and that the only reason Ray
was there was basically to ease the restless natives. As it turned out Frank
underestimated Ray's investigative talents and Ray uncovered not only a little
too much about the case, but also about himself.
Frank Kutell was a bigot and it showed in his attitude and treatment of the
local Indians, such as when he cited his jurisdiction and pushed the tribal
policeman Walter Crow Horse out of the area telling him, ...this is a restricted
area Geronimo. Frank studied Ray and admired his very clinical methods.
Frank also got a kick out of watching Ray's green zeal in trying to prove his
worth in Frank's eyes. As every good hero does, Frank would step in as the
good guy to back Ray off a little, as in their first encounter with Walter when he
was administering the sacred rites to the four directions with the tobacco and
Ray physically jumped on him and attempted to charge Walter for tampering with
evidence. Frank would further toy with Ray and his ignorance, by telling him that
he, shouldn't try so hard to prove that they were not his people.
Ray Levoy, in his ignorance, started off as a pawn that both sides were
toying with. The death they were investigating was that of Leo Fast Elk', whom
Walter Crow Horse was attempting to prepare ceremoniously for the journey.,
as he called it. The journey of which Ray had no idea what Walter Crow Horse
was talking about and from that point on Walter knew that Ray was sent by the
FBI to be a cheap ploy of Washington D.C. in which Ray's presence was to
represent their genuine concern for Indian relations.
Washington D.C. further showed their lack of respect of sacred tribal
religious practices and ways by letting their FBI agents raid an Inipi ceremony
while it was still in progress. They were there to pickup Jimmy Looks Twice.
Washington D.C. knew that ARM was on its last legs and they nicknamed Jimmy
as the movement's last Messiah. When the agents pulled Jimmy out he asked
them if they had any respect, and that if he had been in a church(instead of a
sweat) would they storm it while he was praying. I would have to assume that
their answer would have been no to the former question and yes to the latter
based on their actions and the nickname they gave him. Jimmy tried to retort in
his own disrespectful way by calling them the second coming of the same old
calvary.
Maggie Eagle Bear was the only other real fighter left out of the Aboriginal
Rights Movement. She tried to explain to Ray that the laws of the United States,
and all the enforcement agencies behind those laws wasn't true power, but
paper. Although she herself did later succumb to this power, but it was for a
more noble cause because it led Ray to the missing link , not only to the case
but to his own life. She further wisely stated that, We know the difference
between the reality of freedom and the illusion of freedom. She knew that
Americans and those that live in their materialistic reality(most of the rest of the
world) aren't free, because they are slaves to their systems and chained to the
clock. I think it was Walter who also noted that Ray should convert to Indian
time, [because] white man time will give you a stomach ulcer.
The circumstances that brought about this movement in the first place
was an awakening by the Elders. This Awakening was one in which they were
consciously made aware of what had happened to them and their culture, much
of this awakening was probably brought about secondhand by the continuous
and increasing actions of inquisitive anthropologists and the increased amount
of the indigenous American people to education and access to information and
different forms of power. Their struggle through misinformation about the past
and the propagation of a more truthful representation for the future, has an
immediate impact upon the changing of current attitudes towards what should
be done and also how one should feel about what has been done. In many
respects their battle is much like that of the African Americans' in how they are
attempting to cope with the gross injustices suffered in past by their race in this
country, and how and to what extent they are still suffering from those injustices
today.
Throughout the history of the human race, mankind has unfurled his flag
of truth and justice in many shapes and colors, ideologies and creeds, in the
name of man and the name of God. Each time man's ethnocentric attitudes,
ignorance, and greed has forced him to the same inevitable outcome, but to no
positive conclusion, and history is doomed to repeat itself once more, except
under a slightly different guise. It appears to this writer, that the only banner
that man has ever let unfurl in the wind in these conquests has ultimately been
the banner of greed or self praise.
A banner which has been unfurled time and again under different names,
times and circumstances, and colors; but whose true colors always do shine
through after awhile. Those nations and peoples who are weaker, and often
unorganized, unschooled or without access to the same resources, and
information as other nations, will always get manipulated by the greater power or
powers that be because of economical reasons. That is exactly what happened
in the United States as to the death we brought to hundreds of Indian
cultures.(I.E. government. boarding schools and some forced conversions by a
power greedy church) This seems to inherently be the nature of men(please
forgive my political incorrectness and read beyond the words) and power.
But to give history a fair shake, one might believe that of all these forms of
self governing surely one flag might have flown higher than the rest, at least in
the beginning. I wasn't there for the Mayflower Compact, the Revolutionary
War, or the signing of the Declaration of Independence, all which were based on
a belief in a higher power and they were sustained or blessed as a country only
because of their recognition and dedication to that power. That belief sustained
a then puny and insignificant country of political, religious, and social outcasts of
European society, and which in just a little over a hundred and fifty years later
claimed hold to the title of a world power. Then shortly after, she evolved into an
abusive deceiving world power that, in the wake of her ideologies has created an
egocentric and disposable world. Now, just a little over two hundred years since
our conception truth is slowing filtering out and a picture is painted of a failing
and ugly nation A nation both hateful and hated. With a tarnished history, and
blurred books of that history that have been erased and rewritten numerous
times in order to cover up its multitude of scandals and lies. A nation more
content in believing the lies than embracing the truth and change that comes
with it. A spoiled child on the world scene that obtained too much too fast, and
didn't produce the kind of true character and leadership needed to properly
sustain its power. We have lost the foundation that this country was built on
amidst all the lies and half truths that were told to cover up our faltering path.
Its no wonder our youth are turning out as they are. What have they left
to believe in? Nothing is sacred and they are responsible to no one? For how
can a government hold them accountable when that same government isn't even
accountable to itself? How can they believe in science when science itself
admits that it will never find truth only come ever closer to it? Science keeps
one in a state of suspended disbelief. The god that is preached in schools,
televisions, and society today is unmistakably the god of money. Today, and
everyday, a new unethical scandal covers the pages of our newspapers and
television screens. The edge of the ethical envelope increases and we wonder
why our problems also seem to increase proportionately. Our preaching against
evils such as domestic violence may ease our conscience, but the fact is that it
isn't affecting our behavior. Behind closed doors the song still remains the
same. We deceive no one, but ourselves. If science teaches us that we are
descendants of animals how can they expect anything other than for us to act
like animals? Why do we insist on declaring the close connectiveness that we
allegedly share between the primates and then somehow stamp ourselves with
this highly evolved Maslovian actualizing animal called human? That
subjective definition itself is ever evolving into what is and what is not
considered the ethical or actualized way for the human animal to behave.
Science wishes to have the cake and eat it too, because as we are supposedly
evolving into this higher being our ethical humanness appears to be digressing
more towards our alleged primitive past heritage.
Governments today are the puppets of global big business who have
through their lobbyists used the power and politics of money to create their own
systems of checks and balances whereby they have ethically exploited their
fellow man and the earth in ways that were never dreamed possible by other
cultures or civilizations in the past. Out of this system we have brought up and
bred a nation, nay a world following of liars and deceivers whose main interest
appears to be for the advancement of said individual, or company, or nation, and
his or her position or possessions in life. This way of life is not natural and
creates imbalance, in the Hopi language they have a word for this imbalance,
Koyaanisqatsi meaning crazy life or life disintegrating or life out of balance.
But in the book of Revelation it states that after the world has taken its course
God will restore balance, in due time and on His preordained terms.
Twentieth-century science has also discovered the same thing in their
mathematical theory of chaos in which under a system of harsh exploitation,
there is overpopulation of cattle and humans, which leads to environmental
degradation and deforestation. This environmental destruction results in a
decrease in economics, which results in the decrease in government stability(
this decrease is also stimulated by the economic strain of reparation costs due
to natural disasters), which finally puts too much strain on a government that can
no longer economically take care of its citizens. Thus the citizens loose faith in
that government and that government collapses. Upon which time another form
of governing power rises up to meet the economic needs of those people.
There is also a theory in physics in which correlations can be made which
goes one step further, it states that the universe is constantly creating and
destroying itself on microcosmic levels all the time (I.E. blood cells in your body),
and that this is also happening on a macrocosmic level, just that it is a little
slower of course due to its size, and right now we are heading towards the point
of destruction, or chaos.
I believe as a nation we are on the brink of this chaos and destruction, at
least nationally, Lord knows how much to the extent of world wide chaos(seeing
as much of the world is already in its own state of chaos anyway). Our economic
collapse has to do with Congress effectively keeping President Clinton from
vetoing yet another emergency fund Bill to bail out the Treasury fiasco. If
Congress is successful, it is still only temporary and a one month extension at
which time we will default and the bill collector will come and repossess what
they already own, in more ways than one.
The fourth explanation of the times is a Biblical prophecy, which confirms
the previous scientific theories and the Hopi idea of imbalance. It is like the
others, except that it is more holistic in nature stating that God is ultimately the
one in the background and in control of all events. The re-creation is not just a
natural process per se, but that God, being separate from His creation, will
create again a new heaven and a new earth. These prophesies come from out
of the books of Luke and Revelations in the New Testament and Daniel in the
Old Testament. Luke 21 being where Jesus speaks to his disciples of the signs
of the end times, and Revelation speaks of the end times in detail and also the
new beginning(Rev. 21). Daniel 12, an Old Testament book, prophesies of the
end times also.
Thus America is about to reap what she has sown, along with the rest of
the world which she has successfully led down that path through the alluring call
of her siren ways...and it looks to be quite a harvest indeed.
The rest of the data and list of references will further explain the
prediction that the United States as we know it, will no longer exist, that our
government collapse is inevitable and the likelihood of this country going into
hyperinflation is highly probable. The next form of world rule will more than
likely come from out of the United Nations under the pretense of world peace
and global governance for a more stable world. Out of this a new world dictator
will rise, this world dictator has also been prophesied in the book of Revelation, he is called the Beast.
I'd like to close with a few quotes...
Alas, how terrible is wisdom, when it brings no profit to the man that is
wise. Sophocles
History fails to record a single precedent in which nations subject to
moral decay have not passed into political and economic decline.
General Douglas MacArthur
But have we forgotten God. We have forgotten the gracious Hand which
preserved us in peace, and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us; and
we have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these
blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue or our own.
President Abraham Lincoln
For this people's heart has become callused; they hardly hear with their
ears and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal
them. Jesus the Christ Matt. 13:15
